Shane Smith & The Saints came in on a hot streak and did not disappoint. Playing the honkytonk stage, the guys came out full force and kept the dance floor packed for the entire show.
David Allan Coe – Hanging out with us backstage we had a true legend who says he’s been playing here for almost 30 years. He played just about two hours before coming down off the stage and he still wanted to do a meet and greet with his fans. Before leaving, DAC resigned the historic backstage wall. Long story of why we had to redo it….not for the young eyes.
Aaron Lewis – it’s always a pleasure to have this rock star in the building. First thing getting here, he went straight over to Exchange Street to get his favorite pair of snake skin boots fixed up. After a really intimate VIP sound check he decided he wanted to try calf fries for the first time and have the band join in. They all enjoyed them. After rocking the stage for more than two hours he came down and got ready to head to Florida for a fishing trip, making all of us backstage a little jealous.
Jon Wolfe – playing another Thursday night show, it was great to see Jon again. After spending some time with friends and family he headed to stage. Afterward, Jon hung out backstage and showed off his new Mercedes Sprinter Van. He calls it, “The Sinatra Green Room.”
William Clark Green – It’s always a good day when these boys are in the building. It’s more of a family reunion at this point. They got here first thing in the morning and were already pumped for a great show and a fun time. All of the band members had plenty of family and friends come out to see them. Will attended a private meet and greet for our Billy Bob’s Texas Country Club Members before the show and afterwards he signed autographs and took pictures with all his fans at the merchandise booth.
Frank Foster – We were glad to welcome Frank and his band to BBT for their first appearance here. They made sure to get out there and see the historic stockyards and all of Billy Bob’s. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of these guys soon!
Burning Bubba Fest—Featuring J. Roddy Walston & the Business, Drake White, Quaker City Night Hawks, and The Damn Quails for our 4th annual Burning Bubba Festival, it was a great day with all of these bands. For most of them it was their first time playing any of our stages, they all had a good day and we had fun meeting them all. I expect they’ll be back on these stages soon enough.
Flatland Cavalry – We welcomed back everybody in Flatland Cavalry for their second time playing the Thursday night series. Over 700 fans showed up for an outstanding performance. These guys and girl are a great group of people who always have a lot of fun on stage and can keep the crowd on their feet.
Mark Chesnutt – As always it was an honor to have Mark here backstage at BBT. Before the show he had a meet and greet for more than 50 people, and he was so adamant on seeing his fans that he didn’t want to start it until all of them were there. He then went on to play a two hour show of all of our favorites. Before we knew it we had another bus show up, and it was Stoney LaRue swinging by just to hang out for a while; which is always a pleasant surprise. Jagerbombs for everyone!
