August 1-4 Rob Dixon
ABOUT ROB DIXON: Rob Dixon moved to Ft Worth, TX from Nashville, TN in October of 1981 after a 2 year stint with the legendary George Jones. He went to work in the house band at Billy Bob’s Texas which had only been open since April of that same year but was well on it’s way to becoming the top country music club/venue in the country. In the spring of 1982, Rob put together his own band in a Ft Worth Stockyards club and has had one of the top country dance bands in the DFW area for 36 straight years. Rob and his band (the Lost Cowboy band) still regularly play Billy Bob’s Texas as well as all the other major clubs in the area. Rob built a recording studio in 2000 to record his own music but has also recorded and produced CD’s on several local and national acts including Jake Hooker, Curtis Potter, Gary Stewart, and Bob Wills Texas Playboys (remaining members) and other local bands. Rob Dixon and the Lost Cowboy band have opened for hundreds of country music stars over the years such as George Strait (6 times), Merle, Willie, Waylon, Alabama, Hank Jr., Ray Price, Don Williams and ever Ray Charles and Tina Turner. In fact it would easier to list the acts they haven’t opened for. Rob’s attention to music quality, deep baritone voice, and smooth style make him a favorite every where they play. The Lost Cowboy band also features 3 other talented singers which gives the band great harmonies and a variety of lead vocals and different styles. Their song list varies from new country to classic country with a little rock and funk thrown in. If you love to dance, you will love Rob Dixon and the Lost Cowboy band.
