The first live CD for Smith Music Group is Pat Green on Dec. 4. Merle Haggard was intended to be the first recording, but Rick Smith and Billy Minick, not wanting to take any chances with the country legend, record Pat Green first as a test run. Green’s spirited performance and electric crowd make the CD one of the labels perennial top-selling CD’s.
Merle Haggard’s New Year’s Eve show is recorded for Smith Music Group. It becomes his first of two live CD’s for the label.
